Down The TBR Hole #5

Hey guys! It’s time for another Down the TBR Hole which was created by Lia @Lost In A Story! It’s officially my 5th cleaning out. I’ve slowly being adding more books to my list but it’s nice going through 10 books every week. I love seeing my TBR list slowly drop to a number I hope one day will be manageable. So let’s do this!

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

The fact that I  will be repeating this process every week means that I have to keep track of where I ended and where I’m going to continue. E.g. in week one I do book 1 – 5, in week two book 6 – 10, and so on, until I’ve filtered out my entire TBR.

Under The DomeUnder The Dome By Stephen King

I reread the synopsis of this book and I’m still very interested in it. I just haven’t gotten to it because I am overwhelmed by the number of pages it is. I will get to this at some point.

Judgement: Keep

A Walk Among The TombstonesA Walk Among the Tombstones By Lawrence Block

This is a book I wanted because I wanted to read it before watching the movie. After I got it I found out it’s the 10th book in a series. I think I’m going to pass.

Judgement: Go

Chasing the SunChasing the Sun By Natalia Sylvester

This is a book that has fallen off my radar. I feel if I keep it on my list I’m just going to continue forgetting about it.

Judgement: Go

Loves Music, Loves to DanceLoves Music, Loves to Dance By Mary Higgins Clark

Years ago I discovered the movie of this. I ended up enjoying it a lot for some reason. Then one day I found the book for cheap so I decided to buy it. I think I’ll give it a chance

Judgement: Keep

The Martian ChroniclesThe Martian Chronicles By Ray Bradbury

I’m not sure why I added this to my TBR list. Reading the synopsis I don’t think this is really a book I can see myself getting into.

Judgement: Go

Confessions of a ShopaholicConfessions of a Shopaholic By Sophie Kinsella

This is something I’ve been wanting to read for a while but I guess I’m a bit turned off because it’s a series. I think I’m willing to give this a shot.

Judgement: Keep

AfterpartyAfterparty By Daryl Gregory

This is a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while. I have the copy in my house but I keep getting distracted by other books. I will read this at some point I promise.

Judgement: Keep

The Most Dangerous Animal of AllThe Most Dangerous Animal of All: Searching for My Father… and Finding the Zodiac Killer By Gary L. Stewart and Susan D. Mustafa

This is a book I’ve had my eye on for quite sometime now. It sounds interesting but right now I think I just need to let it go. I’m sure if it’s meant to be I’ll come back to it.

Judgement: Go

The Maze RunnerThe Maze Runner By James Dashner

This is a book I own and I tried to read. I couldn’t get into it. I know a lot of people enjoyed these books but I just don’t have the interest in it.

Judgement: Go

RoomsRooms By Lauren Oliver

I can’t get over how awesome this cover looks. I am keeping this mainly because I love the cover.

Judgement: Keep

Well I got rid of 5 books I feel that is a good cleanse. I’m sad to see some of these books go but I always tell myself that if it’s meant to be it will find it’s way back. I’m just so happy my TBR list is shrinking.

Have you guys read any of these books? Do you think there were some books I should have kept or some I should have let go of? I would love to hear your thoughts.

  1. I keep debating on The Maze Runner. I didn’t like the movies and I’ve seen both good and bad reviews on the books. I’m just not sure if I want to take the time to actually try it out.

    1. Yeah I tried reading the book a couple years ago and I just couldn’t find myself getting into it. I told myself I would try again but the more time goes by I rather just read other books. So I finally decided I’m just going to pass.
