Plot: Bone white. Blood red. Along this path, you’ll soon be dead.

Following the horrifying revelation of Jack the Ripper’s true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth flees her home in Victorian London to enroll as the only female student in Europe’s most prestigious forensics school. But it’s impossible to find peace in the dark, unsettling Romanian castle that houses the school—and was also once home to the depraved Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Prince Dracula.

When a series of troubling deaths brings whispers of Vlad’s bloodthirsty return from the grave, Audrey Rose and her sharp-witted companion, Thomas Cresswell, must unravel the cryptic clues that will lead them to the shadowlike killer—living or dead.A couple weeks ago Hunting Prince Dracula was my Waiting on Wednesday post. Well, did it live up to the first book? Let’s find out.

Wow this book was amazing. I loved the first book but this one really blew me away. I have to say it was a lot more action packed, had an amazing setting, and introduced you to some great new characters.

The first thing I really enjoyed about this book was how much action was in this book. I never felt like there was a dull moment in this book. I found myself never wanting to put it down. Something was always going down and I needed to find out what happened. I have to say I had some theories about who I thought was “Prince Dracula” but I was completely off. I really enjoyed the twist.

The second thing I really enjoyed about this book was the setting. It takes place in a Romanian castle. That was a setting I wasn’t use to reading about. I love mystery and thrillers but I haven’t read any dealing with vampires. After reading this book I feel I really need to change that. The atmosphere was very creepy. There were times the main character would wander around in the dark. I remember freaking out hoping nobody pops out at her. Plus there are all these tunnels and secret passage ways. I really wish I could have transported myself there.

Lastly I really enjoyed the new characters that were introduced to the book. One of them was Thomas’s sister. She reminded me a lot of Thomas just in female form. I love the relationship they have with each other. They really care about each other and both are full of sass. Another new character was the Headmaster’s niece. She ends up befriending Audrey Rose because she’s one of the only other girls in the castle who isn’t a servant. She’s very upfront and honest. I do wish her cousin was in this book but thankfully you do hear a bit from her in letters

After reading this book I’ve grown to appreciate Audrey Rose and Thomas. In my review for, Stalking Jack the Ripper, I did say I felt it was forced and didn’t need to be in the book. Well I am fully on board with the two. I couldn’t help but swoon over the banter they had between each other. I officially understood why people enjoy them together so much. I also feel that Meeting Thomas Cresswell helped me get to this point.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I was freaking out at the end of book because I was dying to know who the next book would be about. I really can’t wait to find out. I had the pleasure of meeting Kerri last Friday. She said the next title should be announced in January. She also said there are hints in the first and second book. I thankfully got to talk to someone who had a theory and I am excited to look into it.

Have you guys read Hunting Prince Dracula? If so what did you think of it? If you guys have some theories about who you think the next book will be based on please let me know. We can always talk about it in Twitter Dm or Instagram Dm. I just don’t want to spoil anything for anyone.
