Hey guys! I am so excited for this Top Ten Tuesday. I read a lot of new authors this year. I found some that I really love and can’t wait to read more from. I am so excited to share these authors with you guys. So let’s go!
Kara Thomas
Reason: I really ended up enjoying The Darkest Corners. It kept me guessing the entire book. She kept throwing curve balls. I was not expecting that ending. Such a great read. I am super excited for her new release this year.
Kathyrn Croft
Reason: In 2017 I read 2 of Kathryn books and loved them both. The Girl You Lost creeped me out. I don’t usually end up feeling that way after reading a book but it got to me. I also really enjoyed Silent Lies. Both were such great reads. I can’t wait to read more from her in 2018.
Karen M. McManus
Reason: This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2017. I read it and absolutely loved it. I loved how it was Breakfast Club with murder involved. I was not expecting that ending. I can’t wait to see what Karen comes out with next.
Abigail Johnson
Reason: Abigail Johnson is an author I randomly stumbled upon because of a giveaway she was doing. I ended up reading her first book and fell in love with her writing. This book was amazing and such an emotional roller coaster ride. She came out with a new book this year which I didn’t get to last year but I can’t wait to read this year.
Karin Slaughter
Reason: Karin Slaughter is an author I have been wanting to read for a while now. I finally picked up her book and I am obsessed. This book was creepy and everything I was looking for. I ended up getting her newest release, The Good Daughter, for my birthday. I can not wait to pick that up this year. I’ve never nothing but amazing things about it.
Marisha Pessl
Reason: Marisha Pessl is another author I have been wanting to read for a while. I am so happy I picked up this book. I really enjoyed it. It was as creepy as people said but I still thought it was a great story. The mixed media really added to the story. It made it so much more enjoyable. I know Marisha is coming out with a new book this year and I can’t wait for it.
Robin Roe
Reason: This was Robin’s debut novel and I loved every second of it. This book is so emotional and had me crying but I loved every second of it. The writing was fantastic. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
B.A. Paris
Reason: I really ended up enjoying The Breakdown so much. I was so shocked by the outcome of that book. That’s a book I still find myself randomly thinking about from time to time again. I have B.A.’s first book which I need to read and she has another book coming out this year which I’m super excited for.
Kerri Maniscalco
Reason: I am so upset I waited until this year to start reading Kerri’s books. I loved both of them so much. She recently just announced the name of the third book and I am beyond excited for it. We don’t have a release date yet but I seriously can’t wait!!!
Greer Hendricks && Sarah Pekkanen
Reason: The Wife Between Us was such an amazing read. It was one of my last 5 star reads of the year. I did not see any of the twists coming. This book really ended up surprising me. I loved it so much. If you love thrillers you really need to check this out. It comes out next week on the 9th. I highly recommend it.
There were a couple of more authors that I discovered this year but these were the ones whose books I really enjoyed. I can’t wait to see who I discover next year.
What were some of the authors you guys discovered in 2017? Are there any authors on my list that ended up making it to yours. I would love to hear from you guys.
I love Kerri Maniscalco’s books and I’m so excited for the third one!!! I also discovered Kara Thomas this year (I was on her Little Monsters street team, so I read an ARC of that book) and her writing is incredible! I have yet to read The Darkest Corners, but I hope to get to it soon! I’m also so excited for her upcoming book!

I can’t believe it’s going to be about Houdini. I feel like it’s going to be such a fun read. You really need to check out The Darkest Corners. I enjoyed it a lot more than Little Monsters. I can’t wait to see what you think of it when you get to it!
