Down the TBR Hole #54

Hey guys! It’s time for another Down the TBR Hole which was created by Lia @Lost In A Story! So I feel there is a chance I could have been under 500 after doing this week’s Down the TBR Hole. I ended up skipping posts last week but it’s fine. I will get there when I get there. So let’s dive in!

The Good NeighborThe Good Neighbor By A.J. Banner

So pretty sure I added this book to my TBR because it was suppose to be the next Gone Girl. I really have fallen for that way too many times and have been let down. I saw my friends that have read this gave it very meh reviews. Even though it’s a quick read I’m going to pass on it.

The DisappearedThe Disappeared By Roger Scruton

I feel this book looks like it would be a thriller/mystery but it’s not at all. So I am a little disappointed by that. This book has a lot of mixed reviews and I’m just not feeling it anymore. Such a shame.

Good as GoneGood as Gone By Amy Gentry

I randomly picked this book on audible on a whim. I listened to the sample and was super interested. I haven’t picked it up yet but I am hoping to soon. I just always forgot about my audible books.

Bridget Jone's BabyBridget Jones’s Baby: The Diaries By Helen Fielding

So I’m not expecting much from this book. It has been a while since the author wrote the series but I honestly thought I would give it a go since I read the other three books. I feel this one will be a quick read. It’s only 219 pages which is short.

Extreme MakeoverExtreme Makeover By Dan Wells

I read one book by Dan Wells and thought it was good. When I heard the premise for this story I knew I had to check it out. I kinda want to put this on hold at the library but I’m going to wait to read some more of the other books I have out first.

Alex + AdaAlex + Ada: The Complete Collection By Jonathan Luna and Sarah Vaughn

I read the first issue of this comic and was super interested in it. I have been wanting to check it out for a while now. When I saw there was a compelete collection I just decided to add that to my TBR. I do hope my library has it.

The Ocean at the End of the LaneThe Ocean at the End of the Lane By Neil Gaiman

Okay first off can we talk about this cover. I love it so much. I think it looks awesome. I heard a lot of really good things about this book and I really want to check it out. I still haven’t read any of his books but I do hope to soon.

The Darkest Part of the ForestThe Darkest Part of the Forest By Holly Black

So Holly Black is a super popular author. I have not read any of her books yet. I recently picked up one of her books from the library sale. I think I’m going to check that out then maybe pick this one up. I never read anything about fae. So for now I’m just going to remove this one.

The Name of the WindThe Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

So this is a book I am terrified to pick up because how big it is. I have heard absolutely amazing things about it. I really want to read it at some point. Big books just scare me. Plus I don’t read a lot of fantasy so I am a little skeptical but I want to give this a go. Plus one of the editions they made for it is gorgeous.

Today Will Be DifferentToday Will Be Different By Maria Semple

So I read Where’d You Go, Bernadette and really enjoyed that. Sadly this book has a lot of mixed reviews. I reread the summary and just don’t find myself interested in the story. Plus so many people that liked Bernadette said they didn’t enjoy this so I just don’t want to bother.

  1. The Ocean is a fantastic read, glad you kept it. And I have to say Bridget Jones is my guilty pleasure, but if you’ve seen the movie then be prepared, the book is entirely different (and neither of them fits the BJD3 Mad About The Boy storyline)

    1. I really need to read a Neil Gaiman book. He’s an author that’s been on my list for a while now. I haven’t seen the latest Bridget Jones. I feel I might need to refresh and maybe even reread the books. Then have like a Bridget Jones movie day.
