Hey guys so I honestly haven’t been watching as many movies as I’d like. I have been spending a lot of time catching up on my 2018 reading goal. I also have been playing video games a bit more. I did have some movies in October I really wanted to get to but that didn’t happen. I haven’t watched anything in November yet but hope that changes. Anyway let’s dive in and see what movies I actually did watch.
It Follows Directed By David Robert Mitchell
Genre: Horror, Mystery
Runtime: 100 mins
Released: March 27th 2015
Rating: R
Plot: A young woman is followed by an unknown supernatural force after a sexual encounter.
My Thoughts: So I have been wanting to watch this movie for a while. It seemed pretty interesting. I also had heard it was really good. I have to say I didn’t really enjoy it otherwise. I just wanted more to happen. I did think it was shot really well.
Genre: Comedy
Runtime: 100 mins
Released: June 15 2018
Rating: R
Plot: Childhood friends Jerry (Jeremy Renner), Callahan (Jon Hamm), Randy (Jake Johnson), Sable (Hannibal Buress) and Hoagie (Ed Helms) have been competing in the same game of tag for 30 years. When Jerry gets married, he attempts to retire from the intense annual game without ever being “it,” causing the other four to band together and go to extreme lengths to finally tag him. Directed by Jeff Tomsic. Inspired by the Wall Street Journal article “It Takes Planning, Caution to Avoid Being It.”
My Thoughts: So I really didn’t have high expectations for this movie. I don’t think it ended up doing really well. I just wanted something that wasn’t too serious to watch. I did like that it was based on a true story. They showed the real people at the end and that was entertaining. I also really enjoyed the scenes when they would try to tag Jeremy Renner. They reminded me of scenes of the Sherlock movies with Robert Downey Jr. I thought that was a cool thing added to the movie. Other than that I thought it was okay. I didn’t find myself laughing at any of the jokes really.
What movies did you guys see in October? Any movies you recommend I watch? Have you seen any of the movies I listed? I would love to hear your thoughts!
