Blogmas Day 9: November Movie Wrap-up

Hey guys! It is time for my November Movie Wrap-up! So I really have been slacking with watching movies lately. I ended up traveling around Thanksgiving so both times I took advantage of the movie options. So let’s dive in to see what I watched.

Hotel ArtemisHotel Artemis Directed By Drew Pearce

Genre: Action, Crime, Drama, Sci-fi, Thriller
Runtime: 94 mins
Released: June 8th 2018
Rating: R

Plot: A woman known as The Nurse (Jodie Foster) runs a high-security, members-only hospital for high-rolling criminals in Los Angeles. When a bank robber (Sterling K. Brown) brings his injured teammates along with $18 million in jewels there, both mob boss Wolf King (Jeff Goldblum) and the police follow. With the hospital under siege, The Nurse, her orderly (Dave Bautista) and her other criminal patients have to defend themselves.

My Thoughts: I thought the trailer for this movie looked so cool. Plus it has such an awesome cast. So when I saw it was a choice on the plane I decided to watch it. I have to say I was pretty disappointed. I just felt like there was a lot going on. Things just felt all over the place for me. I also felt like it could have been a lot bloodier. It had some moments but nothing crazy. Overall I was just really disappointed with this.

The Spy Who Dumped MeThe Spy Who Dumped Me Directed By Susanna Fogel

Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy
Runtime: 117 mins
Released: August 3rd 2018
Rating: R

Plot: Audrey (Mila Kunis) and Morgan (Kate McKinnon), two thirty-year-old best friends in Los Angeles, are thrust unexpectedly into an international conspiracy when Audrey’s ex-boyfriend shows up at their apartment with a team of deadly assassins on his trail. Surprising even themselves, the duo jump into action, on the run throughout Europe from assassins and a suspicious-but-charming British agent, as they hatch a plan to save the world.

My Thoughts: So I’m a big fan of comedies. This movie was on my radar but I didn’t have too high hopes for it. My Dad had watched it before me and said he enjoyed it. So I decided I’d watch this coming home. I wasn’t a huge fan of it. It also made me realize I’m not a huge fan of Kate McKinnon. I just found her super annoying throughout the whole movie. Plus I just didn’t really find anything that funny.

What movies did you guys see in November? Any movies you recommend I watch? Have you seen any of the movies I listed? I would love to hear your thoughts!
