Hey guys! So I thought it would be fun to share with you books I DNF’d. I am a firm believer in that if I don’t like a book then I don’t have to continue it. I really don’t like doing this. I just have so many books on my TBR that I don’t like bothering with books I don’t like. I honestly feel there might have been more books I DNF’d, I just didn’t put them on the shelf on goodreads. So let’s dive in to see what books I DNF’d.
Milk and Honey By Rupi Kaur
So this was on amazon for free. I knew I had to check it out because it’s been so popular. I got a couple poems into it and I just wasn’t a fan. I just don’t think this poetry was really for me.
Every Heart a Doorway By Seanan McGuire
This book is a super popular series in the book community. I decided I would check it out to see what the hype was about. I just was not a fan of the story at all. I also ended up listening to the audiobook and I couldn’t stand the main character’s roomate. She was extremely annoying. I am upset I didn’t like it because it was a bit on the darker side of YA. I didn’t realize it had a bit of mystery to it. I could have seen myself getting into it. I was a bit bummed about this.
The Favorite Sister By Jessica Knoll
I read Jessica Knoll’s debut novel and I wasn’t a fan. I decided to give her another chance and request this one. I thought the first chapter was great and then I was super bored by the second. I just had no interest in continuing on with the story. I feel it was perfect for me because I use to be into reality tv and all that drama. This just fell flat.
So this book I feel really bad about not finishing this one. This was part of the group buddy read I’m a part of. It sounded super interesting. However I just couldn’t get into the writing. I don’t remember how much I read but nothing was being absorbed. I know my two friends that did read it, really liked it. I just couldn’t get past the writing.
They All Fall Down By Tammy Cohen
Okay so I honestly barley remember anything about this book. I have a little bit of a flashback to when I was reading it. I do remember just not being able to get into the story. This was in March so it’s all very fuzzy to me.
Hangman By Jack Heath
This book I don’t remember much about it either. I do remember starting it and just had no clue who was who. I put it down for a while. I tried picking it up again and just felt the same way as I started it.
What are some books you DNF’d this year?
I also really didn’t like The Favorite Sister! It was one of my least favorite books of the year, but I did finish it. So not worth it.

Milk and Honey is on my TBR. I’m not sure if I’ll like it, but it’s somewhat relieving to see that not everyone is into it, because up till now, I’ve been hearing loads of praises for it! Interesting list, I haven’t read any of the books on this list, but one book I’ve DNF’ed this year is Lily Collins’s Unfiltered. I found it very long-winded and boring, which is a pity, since I do like Lily Collins.

Yeah I feel like I was the out one out with Milk and Honey. I just couldn’t get into it. I mean the good thing about it, is that it’s a fast read. I think it’s free on amazon prime. Oh no that is a shame to hear. I don’t know much about Lily Collin’s.

Hmm… I think I’ll try Milk and Honey to see if I enjoy it since it seems like a swing or miss thing. Lily Collins is an actress who I’ve seen in a few movies and she seems like quite a nice person, so I was interested in her book for quite a bit!

Yeah I feel Milk and Honey is worth giving a shot esp since it’s such a quick read. Yeah I don’t think I’ve seen much of Lily Collins work but she seems sweet.

I feel like classics are tough for me. I would like to read more of them though.
