January Movie Wrap-up

Hey guys! I am slowly getting my groove back with my blog. I have been trying to post more recently. Things were a bit busy at the beginning of the month but they have finally slowed down. Sadly in January I ended up not watching that many movies. I did watch a good amount this month. I am hoping to squeeze a couple more movies before the month ends. You will see that list at the beginning of March. Anyway, let’s dive in to the films I watched in January.

Bird BoxBird Box Directed By Susanne Bier

Genre: Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi, Thriller
Runtime: 124 mins
Released: December 21 2018
Rating: R

Plot: In the wake of an unknown global terror, a mother must find the strength to flee with her children down a treacherous river in search of safety. Due to unseen deadly forces, the perilous journey must be made blindly. Directed by Emmy winner Susanne Bier, Bird Box is a thriller starring Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock, John Malkovich, Sarah Paulson, and Trevante Rhodes.

My Thoughts: I read the book last year because I heard about the movie being made. I do have to say I did enjoy the movie more than the book. I have to say the movie kept me entertained the entire time. I still was a bit confused about certain things. I did want more answers with the book and the movie. So that did leave me a bit unsatisfied. Overall a decent movie.

UnbreakableUnbreakable Directed By M. Night Shyamalan

Genre: Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller
Runtime: 106 mins
Released: November 22 2000
Rating: PG-13

Plot: A man learns something extraordinary about himself after a devastating accident.

My Thoughts: So the moment I saw the trailer for the movie Glass, I wanted to catch up and watch the other movies in the series. I heard good things about this from my boyfriend. I ended up really enjoying this a lot. It was so interesting learning about the two characters. It’s so old that I knew some plot points in the story. I was completely shocked by the end of the movie though. I am bummed because I heard a lot of mixed things about Glass but I still want to watch it.

What movies did you guys see in January? Any movies you recommend I watch? Have you seen any of the movies I listed? I would love to hear your thoughts!

  1. I’ve watched Bird Box and i agree with your thoughts! I do want more explanations on certain things (I’m particularly intrigued by the unseen monsters and why the insane people aren’t affected). Glass looks exciting though I didn’t know it was in a series so I’ve definitely got to look it up!

    1. Did you read Bird Box? Yeah I was hoping we would get an explanation. It would be interesting to know why it doesn’t effect the insane people. Yeah I think at first it was a secret that Unbreakable and Split were connected and then Glass confirms it. I still need to see Glass.
