July Movie Wrap-up

Hey guys! I am so excited to share the movies I watched in July with you. I was suppose to have a movie marathon during the 4th of July vacation but that didn’t happen. I haven’t been watching as many movies as I’d like. I did end up enjoying all the movies I watched which I was happy about. So let’s dive in and see what I watched in July!

My Neighbor TotoroMy Neighbor Totoro Directed By Hayao Miyazaki

Genre: Animation, Family, Fantasy
Runtime: 86 mins
Released: July 13 1990
Rating: G

Plot: Two young girls, 10-year-old Satsuki and her 4-year-old sister Mei, move into a house in the country with their father to be closer to their hospitalized mother. Satsuki and Mei discover that the nearby forest is inhabited by magical creatures called Totoros (pronounced toe-toe-ro). They soon befriend these Totoros, and have several magical adventures.

My Thoughts: I thought this movie was so adorable. There wasn’t really much of a plot to this movie but I still thought it was really cute. It was just a fun and magical good time. I wish Tororo was a real life creature because he just seems like he’d be so cuddly. I did feel like the ending was a bit abrupt so that threw me off a little bit. I would recommend for people to check this out.

Spider-man Far From HomeSpider-Man: Far from Home Directed By Jon Watts

Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-fi
Runtime: 129 mins
Released: July 2 2019
Rating: PG-13

Plot: Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent.

My Thoughts: So I am a bit behind on my superhero movies. Yes I haven’t watched the last two avengers movies. Yes this spoiled them for me. I mean I already knew what happened in the last one just from hearing people talk about it. I just have been getting tired of them and they’re so long too. Anyway, I did watch Spider-Man: Homecoming. I didn’t really remember it but I did like this one more. I thought this one was really enjoyable. I thought the villain was really interesting. I feel he was very different from other superhero villains. I also thought the special effects were so well done. The movie also had a good amount of laughs which I enjoyed. I would watch this one again.

Shazam!Shazam! Directed By David F. Sandberg

Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy
Runtime: 132 mins
Released: April 5th 2019
Rating: PG-13

Plot: We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, by shouting out one word – SHAZAM – this streetwise fourteen-year-old foster kid can turn into the grown-up superhero Shazam.

My Thoughts: I thought those was a really interesting superhero movie. It was not what I was expecting at all. I found it a bit weird but it ended up being really enjoyable. I love that he’s just a kid which is crazy to me. It was fun seeing him try to discover all his powers. I really liked that it took him time to figure it out. Some superhero movies they know right away but since he’s a kid he had so much to learn. It ended up being a fun experience. I would recommend you guys check this out.

What movies did you guys see in July? Any movies you recommend I watch? Have you seen any of the movies I listed? I would love to hear your thoughts!
