Hey guys!! So February has come and went. I really can’t believe how fast it ended up flying by. I sadly only ended up watching two movies in February. A part of me wanted to watch more but at the same time I didn’t really want to watch movies. I am hoping to watch more in March. Let’s see how that ends up going. Anyway, let’s dive in and see what I watched in February!
To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You Directed By Michael Fimognari
Genre: Drama, Romance
Runtime: 101 mins
Released: February 12th 2020
Rating: TV-14
Plot: Lara Jean and Peter have just taken their relationship from pretend to officially official when another recipient of one of her old love letters enters the picture.
My Thoughts: So I’m not super familiar with this series. I watched the movie then ended up reading the first book. I really liked the first movie so when I heard there would be a second one I was so excited. However this movie didn’t do it for me. First I was a bit disappointed they pretended that the John Ambrose of the first movie didn’t exist at all. They changed the story with him completely. In the first movie he showed up at her door while in the second movie he ended up sending her a letter. So they didn’t even keep the story straight. I’ve seen plenty of shows and movies change who plays characters. I’ve seen it happen where the two people don’t look like each other. Usually they keep the story the same and just want the audience to accept that. So I was a bit confused why they totally ignored what happened in the first movie. Also I really felt that Lara Jean and Peter still felt like they were fake dating. It didn’t feel real to me at all. Then the whole thing John Ambrose situation felt so pointless to me. I don’t really want to go into that because then I’d be spoiling the movie for people who still haven’t seen it. Overall I was really looking forward to this and it just fell flat. I was disappointed with it and didn’t enjoy it as much as the first one. Will I end up watching the third one? Most likely. I do want to see how things will end but my expectations aren’t going to be high.
Sonic the Hedgehog Directed By Jeff Fowler
Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Family, Sci-fi
Runtime: 99 mins
Released: February 14th 2020
Rating: PG
Plot: After discovering a small, blue, fast hedgehog, a small-town police officer must help it defeat an evil genius who wants to do experiments on it.
My Thoughts: First of all can I say how happy I am they changed the animation for Sonic. He looks so much better. I honestly didn’t think I would see this movie opening weekend. My boyfriend and I wanted something to see and not much peaked our interest. We both have played Sonic games in the past so we thought why not. Honestly this movie was better than I thought it would be. I had such a fun time. I found myself laughing majority of the movie. There were also references to the Sonic game which I thought was awesome. Jim Carrey did a great job playing Mr. Robotnik. Overall would recommend you guys checking this one out.
What movies did you guys see in February? Any movies you recommend I watch? Have you seen any of the movies I listed? I would love to hear your thoughts!
