The Birthday Tag

Hey guys!! So today is my birthday!! I am thankful that I am actually off on my birthday. I will be spending the day watching movies with my boyfriend. Then we plan to go out to dinner with my parents. It’s supposed to be raining today so I am honestly happy with having a nice chill day. I found this tag a while back. Sadly the person whose blog I found this tag on has been deleted. I am excited to be doing this tag. So let’s dive in!

The Birthday Tag Questions

1) Birthday Cake: A book with a plot that seems cliché but you adore it anyway.

I recently read Behind Closed Doors By B.A. Paris. I found it very cliché and predictable. However even though that was the case I still enjoyed it. I think just because it made me pretty uncomfortable when reading. I feel I haven’t really felt uncomfortable when reading a thriller in a while. Since that doesn’t happen too often I feel that added to the experience. It was a wild ride.

2) Party Guests: Your most anticipated book release for this year.

So it is currently October. There are only 2 months left in the month. I do feel most of the books I was looking forward to came out. I honestly haven’t really kept up as well as I usually do with books. I feel this has been such an overwhelming year. I am sure we all feel it. There is a book that hasn’t come out yet that I really can’t wait to get to. The book is Little Cruelties by Liz Nugent. She is one of my favorite authors. I have enjoyed both of her books, Lying in Wait and Unraveling Oliver. She is an amazing thriller writer. Little Cruelties comes out next month. I will be picking it up right away.

3) Birthday Presents: A book that surprised you with how much you loved it.

Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstances By Ruth Emmie Lang. This was a book that wasn’t on my radar. It was picked by a friend for a buddy read. Honestly I ended up really loving this book so much. It has magical realism in it which I just thought was incredible. I really haven’t read too many books with magical realism. I do need to read more because I still haven’t read much. If anyone has any recommendations I would love that. I did see Ruth Emmie Lang has a new book coming out. I don’t know really anything about it. There isn’t too much on it but you know I will be picking that up when it comes out.

4) “Happy Birthday” Song: A book that certainly deserved all the hype it got.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo By Taylor Jenkins Reid is 100% a book I believe deserves all the hype it got. That book was amazing. I am someone who is very much into celebrities and knowing about them. This felt like it was about a real person. I loved learning about her life and her different relationships. It was so interesting seeing the different stories behind each relationship. Also the book broke my heart and I honestly am still not over it. It was just very well done. I feel if you haven’t read this book, you need to.

5) Happy Music: A book with some very beautiful and truly memorable quotes.

Okay this is hard because I am very forgetful. I do have to save I do want to buy the Arc of Scythe series by Neal Shusterman. I have the audiobooks but I do want the psychical ones. I remember when I first read Thunderhead, I took pictures of some of the quotes I liked. I probably will end up rereading them again and recording the quotes I like.

6) Getting Older: A book that you read a long time ago, but you think you would appreciate more if you read it as a more mature reader.

Hm I really am not sure. I feel maybe the book What My Mother Doesn’t Know By Sonya Sones. I remember reading that book and was shocked by some of the things in it. I don’t remember how old I was but I was young. I honestly would love to pick this up again and refresh. I wish I didn’t get rid of it because I did read it multiple times. I have to see if my library has it. It’s a quick read.

7) Sweet Birthday Memories: A book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life.

This is really tough. I can’t think of anything from the past right now. I do have to say that Geekerella by Ashley Poston helped at the beginning of the year. That was a really enjoyable read. It helped lift my spirits for a bit.

I tag you to do this when its your birthday!

I honestly can’t believe it’s my birthday today. I feel like I say this every year but this year especially really flew by. It really has been such a weird year but so thankful for everything. I am excited for a laid back birthday. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings. I also would just like to thank all of you for being here with me on this journey. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for you guys. I love talking to you guys and reading your posts. I appreciate you guys so much!
