Hey guys! I honestly can’t believe we are on day 16 of Blogmas. Time is seriously just flying by. Last week I did my first week of Try A Chapter Tag. I like getting a little taste of all these books. I have been really interested in some. Others I have decided I’m just going to unhaul or just not read. I even found some that weren’t on my radar. So let’s dive in and see what books I tried in the last week.
Day 8
Rent A Boyfriend By Gloria Chao
I only read the first chapter of this book but I really enjoyed it. I kind of spoiled that in my Winter TBR post I did yesterday. This book wasn’t on my radar but it just sounded like a cute concept. Plus it has different point of views which I am a huge fan of. There is a bit of a wait for this at my library. I did put it on hold. I can’t wait to read more!
Day 9
Imaginary Friend By Stephen Chbosky
I’m not really sure what I think of this one. It is a book I have been looking forward to picking up. I have heard a bit of mixed reviews on it. It did have some creepy vibes but I wasn’t 100% into it. I do think the chapters are pretty short. I can see myself giving this a couple of chapters to see if I want to continue or not.
Day 10
The Sullivan Sisters By Kathryn Ormsbee
This was another book from the 25 Reads of December. It wasn’t originally on my radar. The day of I was looking at it and saw the chapter wasn’t too long. It didn’t really have me hooked. I don’t think I will end up picking this one up again.
Day 11
Somebody’s Daughter By David Bell
First chapter in and I am hooked. I have read other books from David Bell and I am pretty sure he likes doing cliffhangers and the end of his chapters. I am definitely picking this one up after I read my buddy reads. I ended up reading another chapter because I needed to know more. I probably could have read more but I had to stop. I am sad I have been putting this one off for 2 years now.
Day 12
My Husband’s Wife By Jane Corry
I’m not sure about this one. I did read the first chapter and just wasn’t invested. I’m always iffy about books where the couple gets married after a short period of time. There are always secrets that end up coming out and it’s like ah what did I get myself into. I think I might just unhaul this one.
Day 13
What The Woods Keep By Katya de Becerra
I’ve had this arc for about 2 years now. I didn’t know anything about it. I finally realized this would be the perfect time to see if I want to keep it or not. It was a short first chapter. I thought the first chapter wasn’t bad. Once again not fully invested. I think this will be another book I end up reading a couple more chapters. I’ll decide after that if I want to read or just unhaul too.
Day 14
I am Still Alive By Kate Alice Marshall
I am invested in this story. I was a bit skeptical since I read another book by this author and didn’t love it. I thought the beginning was super interesting. I want to read more to find out what happens. I do plan to pick this up sometime next year. I know I won’t be able to fit it in this month. I might next month before I forget about it and then it just continues to sit on my shelf.
This is my second week of doing Try A Chapter. I am really enjoying this. I did end up getting rid of another book I own. I also am a bit skeptical about a couple of other books I own. I will aim to read a couple more of the chapters of those books and see if I want to keep. I can’t wait to see what next week will bring.
