Blogmas Day 22: Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Hope Santa Brings

Hey guys!!! It’s time again for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is Books I Hope Santa Brings. This year I have been trying to get rid of books I own that I don’t think I’ll enjoy or don’t think I’ll read. I do always like asking for a couple of books for Christmas. These are usually books I have been eying but just haven’t purchased. I have put a couple of new releases as well as some backlist. So let’s dive in to see what I asked for!

Little Cruelties By Liz Nugent

Reason: Liz is hands down one of my favorite authors. I have read Unraveling Oliver and Lying in Wait. I do own her book Skin Deep which I really need to get to. I also knew that I needed to add this to my Christmas list right away. I don’t know what it’s about but I will read anything she writes.

A Good Marriage By Kimberly McCreight

Reason: Kimberly is another author I’ve really enjoyed her books. She is a local author who I’ve had the pleasure to meet a couple of times. I did try reading this book earlier in the year but couldn’t focus. I figured I’d ask for it for Christmas and try to read it during the new year.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue By V.E. Schwab

Reason: I have read V.E. Schwab’s middle grade books and really enjoyed them. The moment I heard the summary for this book I was very intrigued. I also would love to read an adult book by V.E. Schwab. I have heard incredible things about her adult books. I figure I would give this one a shot. I do know it is a bit hyped up. I have heard incredible things about this book and hope I end up feeling the same.

Station Eleven By Emily St. John Mandel

Reason: This book has been on my TBR for a long time. I have heard it is an incredible read. I even put it in my post predicting it to be a 5 star read. (I really need to get to those books) I did push it off this year because someone said it dealt with topics we were dealing with this year. This year has been a stressful one for me. So I really didn’t have any interest really reading about that. I wouldn’t mind picking it up next year since I’ve heard nothing but praise.

Mirka Andolfo’s Mercy By Mirka Andolfo

Reason: I am pretty sure I randomly spotted this comic in some like comic newsletter. The art for the cover looked incredible and drew my attention. I don’t really know what the comic is about. I have been following the artist on instagram and love her work. So one thing I know is it will be beautiful to look at.

The Shadow of the Wind By Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Lucia Graves (Translator)

Reason: A while back I went to a focus group. When I was there reading my book one of the ladies there was talking to me. She had recommended this book to me. Since then I have heard from friends that they love this book. Carlos died this year and I finally decided it was time to pick up this book. I really can’t wait to read this one.

Sapiens: A Graphic History: The Birth of Humankind (Vol. 1) By Yuval Noah Harari

Reason: I have been trying to read more educational books lately. I saw someone post something from the original and thought it might be something I’d enjoy. I then saw the graphic novel on Netgalley and tried to request it. I did get denied so I decided I would ask for it for Christmas.

The Sacred Texts of the Babylon Bee (Volume #1) By Babylon Bee

Reason: Okay Babylon Bee is one of the funniest satire news sites. I absolutely love everything they post. They always have me dying. I thought this would be such a fun coffee table book. Plus I know it will be good for some laughs. You can’t go wrong with that.

These are the books I asked Santa for. I can’t wait to see which books he brings. I am really excited for all these books. These are books I really would like to get to next year no matter if I get them for Christmas or not. So excited!!

What are some books you are hoping Santa brings you this year?
