Blogmas Day 12: Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Hey guys I thought it would be fun to do the Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag. I did this tag back in 2018 and 2019. I’m not sure why I skipped it in 2020 but I’m back to do it again. I always have fun with this tag. The two years I did it I had different scores. I’m really excited to see what my score is this year. So let’s dive in!

  • Tag & link the person who tagged you
  • Tag and link me/this post (if you would be so kind, I love reading your answers!)
  • Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done
  • Tag another 10 people!

  • Received an ARC and not reviewed it

Yes I still have a bunch of e-arcs from Netgalley I need to review. I got to a couple of them this year but still didn’t make a dent. I always tell myself I’m not going to request anymore books. That is a lie I continue to tell myself. I do hope to make more a dent in them in 2022.

  • Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley

I actually have 84% on Netgalley. I did read a couple of the books I had requested this year. However I was in a bit of a slump this year. So I was picking up books here and there. I did read like 9 books for Netgalley so that isn’t bad. I hope to read more and get my feedback rating to the 90s.

  • Rated a book on goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)

I actually don’t think I did that this year. I feel I didn’t really give many reviews on Netgalley this year. I wasn’t really doing much with goodreads. I’d put what I was reading and when I finished it. I’d give stuff a rating too but that was really it.

  • Folded down the page of a book

I don’t think I have done this. I am drawing a bank on this. I feel I listened to a lot of audiobooks this year. I can’t fold down the page on that.

  • Accidentally spilled on a book✔

I am sure I accidentally spilled something on a book. Last time I did this I said I was super clumsy. So I have no doubt this probably will happen like once a year. There isn’t anyway for me to avoid that.

  • DNF a book this year✔

Yes I did. If a book isn’t drawing me in or I can’t get into it I just DNF it. To be fair I feel I should have had more dnfs this year. I just really wanted to read something so I’d push through. Next year I’m going to be more on top of that. It’s never a good feeling.

  • Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it

No I didn’t do that this year. I don’t have a lot of room on my bookshelves. Since space is so limited I can’t be buying books I think are pretty. This does make me realize I need to go through my bookshelves. I feel I have some books just because. I do have books scattered around and would like to have them all in one place.

  • Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)✔

Oh yeah definitely. I feel this is always the case. I feel now since I don’t go to school, I’ll do it instead of cleaning. It takes a lot to get me to clean. I’ll do it but it’s a push. So there are plenty of times I’d said I would read and did something else.

  • Skim read a book✔

Yeah if a book isn’t grabbing my attention I’ll start to skim. I feel sometimes things get repetitive or I’m bored. So I will start skimming and just mindlessly read without absorbing what I’m reading.

  • Completely missed your Goodreads goal

This year I set my goal to only 50 books. I am happy that I ended up meeting that mark. I didn’t think I was going to make it.

  • Borrowed a book and not returned it✔

I’m going to say yes just because my library officially got rid of library fines. So technically I don’t need to rush to bring it back. I keep just renewing the books I currently have taken out.

  • Broke a book buying ban

I haven’t been buying nearly as many books as I use to. As I said in one of the other responses my books are kind of all over the place. I don’t have a lot of room on my shelves so trying not to over buy.

  • Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about✔

Yes this is definitely something I have done. I know there were a couple times I started writing a review on goodreads then did something else. Then I ended up completely forgetting about the review overall. I do want to get back to writing more reviews next year.

  • Wrote in a book you were reading✔

Yes I did that! Jenna, Luna and I have been reading books and writing in them and then sending it off to whoever hasn’t gotten it yet. It’s been so much fun doing that. I love seeing what everyone thinks.

  • Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads

No I’m very on top of adding books to goodreads. I always like knowing what books I’ve read. I feel I would forget otherwise.

  • Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend

No, I haven’t borrowed any books from any of my friends this year.

  • Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book

Nope nobody has asked me about borrowing any books. So I haven’t had to dodge anyone asking me to borrow a book. I feel I usually give books out to people especially if I want them to read the book.

  • Broke the spine of someone else’s book

Since I haven’t borrowed any books from any friends I haven’t had any spines to break in. So thankfully that hasn’t happened. I do try to be gentle with my friend’s books.

  • Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged

I feel I recently started taking the jacket off of books but I don’t do it often. That hasn’t happened anytime this year that I can remember.

  • Sat on a book accidentally

I feel I can remember moving a book so I don’t sit on it. I don’t think I have actually accidentally sat on any books this year.

Score: 8/20

So I got 8/20 like I did back in 2019. I’m a bit surprised I got the same. I was thinking maybe one less or even one more. I haven’t really changed my habits that much. I remember saying in 2019 I hope to get less. Maybe in 2022 I can change somethings around. I can’t wait to see and compare.
