May Wrap-up

Hey guys!! I hope you all ended up having a great May. In May I decided to try to take a break from thrillers/mysteries. I ended up reading only 2. One was a book I started at the end of April the other was one I forgot was a mystery. I overall felt it was a decent month. I am so happy to be back reading thrillers again! Now let’s see what I read in May. Continue reading “May Wrap-up”

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Meant To Read in 2017 But Didn’t Get To

Top Ten Tuesday

Hey guys! I am super excited for this one. I actually made a list in 2017 of books I wanted to read. Sadly I didn’t get to a lot of those last year. So this year I am doing the Beat the Backlist challenge to help get these books read. So here are some of the books I wanted to read last year but didn’t. Down The TBR Hole #13

Hey guys! It’s time for another Down the TBR Hole which was created by Lia @Lost In A Story! It’s been two weeks since I did my last Down The TBR Hole. I am so sad because I know I could have been under 700 by now but it’s okay. I’m hoping after this one I can get it down to the 600s. So let’s do this!

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

The fact that I  will be repeating this process every week means that I have to keep track of where I ended and where I’m going to continue. E.g. in week one I do book 1 – 5, in week two book 6 – 10, and so on, until I’ve filtered out my entire TBR.

I do have to say some series do intimidate me. I do try to stick with trilogy but I am willing to try out a longer series as long as it isn’t too ridiculous in the amount of books involded. I do have a problem finishing some so I need to work on that in general. Anyway here are some that I’ve wanted to read and need to stop putting off.

My March Haul

March Haul

Here is my March Haul. I bought most of these from Book Outlet. I got Illuminae and No One Knows from instagram giveways. I got A Court of Thorns and Roses from a kind lady in my barnes and nobles. The Serpent King came from Owl Crate. I’m so excited to dig into these within the next couple of months.

Have you guys read any of these? Which ones are your favorite. I know ACOTAR and Illuminae are big hits. Any other fan favorites here?

Random Act of Kindness

A Court of Thorns and Roses

I hope everyone is doing well. I have a cute story that I just couldn’t pass up telling you guys. So on Monday night me and my friend decided to go out for a walk. Originally we were planning on just going to Dunkin Donuts but that didn’t really end up working out so we went over to Barnes & Nobles. We were looking around and all of a sudden came across the signed section. There were so many good ones but I decided I was going to pick A Court of Thorns and Roses. I’ve been dying to read this book for ages and I loved owning signed copies so why not. My friend ending up picking Perks of Being a Wallflower. So as we are getting ready to go up the escalator and this woman stops us. She tells me she has a question. So she asks me how much my book cost. I told her how much and she said she’s going to buy the book for me. I am standing there looking at this lady in couple shock. I kept asking her if she was being serious and she said yes she was. She then went on to explain she had just went to talk to her priest and they talked about her doing nice for someone for reconciliation and she just felt this feeling about buying the book for me. I almost started to cry because this is honestly so sweet. I was ready to buy all her books or take her out to eat or something. I gave her a huge hug and couldn’t stop thanking her. She gave me 20 dollars and then went on her way. I really still can’t get over the kindness this lady showed for me. I am forever thankful for people like her. I really wish I knew her name or something so I could tell her how happy I’ve been this week because of her.

Have you guys ever done a random act of kindness for a stranger or had a stranger do a random act of kindness for you? I would love to hear your story in the comments below. 😀
