Amazon Books

Hey guys! So I decided that today I was going to do a different type of review. I’m always reviewing books and such but I wanted to switch it up. I recently went to the new Amazon Books that opened up at the Time Warner Center in New York so I wanted to write a little review about my experience. I hope you guys enjoy!

amazon bookstoreSo last Saturday my boyfriend and I decided to wander around the city because we needed to get out of the house. So we ended up being near the Time Warner Center by Columbus Circle. I was super excited that an Amazon Books opened that I needed to go check it out. I have heard that people had to wait on a line to get in so I was a little nervous that I wasn’t going to get in. Thankfully we didn’t have that problem.

I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I think the main problem was that it was just way to crowded. Everywhere I would go there was another person in my way. It was hard to move around and I found that very uncomfortable. I was trying to look at the selection of books they had but it was impossible because everywhere I would move someone else was in the way. The only thing I did like but also found weird is how many employees they had working. Everywhere I would go I would have someone saying Hello to me and asking if I needed help. I found it a little unnecessary just with how small the space was. It was also good to know though that if I did end up spending more time in there and I needed something I didn’t have to go far to ask.

I did have to say the selection was a little on the small size. I think part of the reason was just how many people there were. Maybe if it was less crowded and I actually decided to stay and look I might have found something. I did see a couple books I wanted to read but like I said I didn’t have the motivation to spend time in there.

There was one part of the store that I actually did enjoy. They did have a if you like this then you would like this and I enjoyed that. I am always looking for books that are similar to other books I’ve enjoyed. The only thing is once again it was a bit on the small side and only a selection of books had recommendations for them. It is a cool concept and I would love to see that be a thing in other bookstores.

Overall I didn’t really enjoy my experience there. I know it’s new so everyone is checking it out but having no space to myself and barley being able to move isn’t fun. I buy books from Amazon all the time. I probably will continue shopping online and in Barnes and Nobles. I don’t think I will be going back to Amazon Books anytime soon. Maybe if they end up opening a bigger location then I could see myself going. For now I will just continue to order books in the comfort of my own home.
