Hey guys I am finally talking about my favorite books of 2020. I just went through the books I ended up reading and I’m definitely struggling a bit to remember some of the plot from different books. I do feel a lot of what I did end up reading in 2020 was a blur. I know we all had a tough year so I’m sure I’m not alone in these feelings. I just feel some of these books I read way over a year ago. So please bare with me as I try to remember. I do have to say I feel 2021 reading is going better. I have been in the mood to physically read which I feel is a big step. So that has me really excited. Overall here is to hoping 2021 reading is better than 2020s. Let’s dive in to my favorites of 2020!
Hey guys! Today I thought I would share with you some of the authors I read that were new to me this year. I originally wanted to talk about all of them but I had a lot. So I decided I would just narrow it down. I wanted to talk about authors I enjoyed and would pick up more of their books. So let’s dive in to see who those authors are.
Hey guys! Wow I honestly can’t believe that 2020 is almost over. This year has been such a weird one. There have been some books I read that honestly felt like I read them years ago. I did make a list at the beginning of the year where I talked about 20 books I wanted to read this year. Unfortunately I didn’t get to majority of those. I feel in previous years I usually make TBRs and follow through. This year I wasn’t in the mood for that. I do hope next year ends up being better in general. Anyway for this list I wanted to talk about some 2020 releases I was excited for but didn’t get to. So let’s dive in!
Hey guys!! So today is my birthday!! I am thankful that I am actually off on my birthday. I will be spending the day watching movies with my boyfriend. Then we plan to go out to dinner with my parents. It’s supposed to be raining today so I am honestly happy with having a nice chill day. I found this tag a while back. Sadly the person whose blog I found this tag on has been deleted. I am excited to be doing this tag. So let’s dive in!
Hey guys! August seriously came and went. I ended up reading everything on my TBR besides one book. I did squeeze in some comics as well. I have a pretty ambitious TBR for September. There are just so many books I want to read. I am trying to fit more audiobooks in there cause those help a lot. So let’s dive in and see what I want to read in September! Hey guys!!! It’s time again for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is Books that Make Me Hungry. This is such a fun Top Ten Tuesday theme. I can’t say no to some good food. I always get jealous when the characters in books food sounds good and I can’t have any. I did try to pick books that I remember them mentioning food that sounded good. Unfortunately I don’t remember every book that mentions food so one or two of these might just be because they have food on the cover. So let’s dive in! Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Books that Make Me Hungry”
Hey guys!!! It’s time again for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is Books that Should be Adapted into Netflix Shows/Movies (submitted by Nushu @ Not A Prima Donna Girl). I haven’t done a Top Ten Tuesday in so long. I saw my lovely friend Destiny @ Howling Libraries, talking about how she hasn’t done one in so long. Then I realized since I just recently started blogging it had also been a while. I saw the topic for this week and was sold! So let’s dive in! Genre: Mystery, Thriller, Young Adult
Pages: 240 pages
Release Date: August 4th 2020
Plot: If you loved American Horror Story 1984, you’ll die for this paperback original thriller mashup of Agatha Christie’s The A.B.C. Murders and Riverdale in which a game turns deadly with a killer who picks his victims one by one, letter by letter.
Every year the senior class at Lincoln High plays assassin. Lia Prince has been planning her strategy for years and she’s psyched that not only does she finally get to play, she’s on a team with Devon Diaz. But this year, the game isn’t any fun–it’s real. Abby Ascher, Ben Barnard, and Cassidy Clarke have all turned up . . . dead. Can Lia stop the ABC killer before he reaches D?
Why I Need This Book: So the moment I heard about this book it just seemed really interesting. It’s supposed to be similar to Agatha Christie’s A.B.C. Murders. I ended up reading that recently and enjoyed it. It just seems like it’s going to be a fun mystery book that is fast paced. I’m always looking to find new mysteries so I can’t wait to check this out!
Genre: Contemporary, Young Adult, Romance, Retelling, Fiction
Pages: 288 pages
Release Date: August 4th 2020
Publisher: Quirk Books
Plot: In the third book in Ashley Poston’s Once Upon a Con series, Beauty and the Beast is retold in the beloved Starfield universe.
Rosie Thorne is feeling stuck—on her college application essays, in her small town, and on that mysterious General Sond cosplayer she met at ExcelsiCon. Most of all, she’s stuck in her grief over her mother’s death. Her only solace was her late mother’s library of rare Starfield novels, but even that disappeared when they sold it to pay off hospital bills.
On the other hand, Vance Reigns has been Hollywood royalty for as long as he can remember—with all the privilege and scrutiny that entails. When a tabloid scandal catches up to him, he’s forced to hide out somewhere the paparazzi would never expect to find him: Small Town USA. At least there’s a library in the house. Too bad he doesn’t read.
When Rosie and Vance’s paths collide and a rare book is accidentally destroyed, Rosie finds herself working to repay the debt. And while most Starfield superfans would jump at the chance to work in close proximity to the Vance Reigns, Rosie has discovered something about Vance: he’s a jerk, and she can’t stand him. The feeling is mutual.
But as Vance and Rosie begrudgingly get to know each other, their careful masks come off—and they may just find that there’s more risk in shutting each other out than in opening their hearts.
Why I Need This Book: I recently discovered the Once Upon A Con series right before quarantine hit. I ended up really enjoying it. I did pick up the second one and not like it as much. I do think I need to read it because I wasn’t as focused during that time. I am really excited for the next book in the series. I can’t wait to meet some new characters while hopefully running into so old ones. I do hope my library gets a copy of this.
Have you gotten to read this early? If so what are your thoughts on it? If not, are you guys interested in picking this up? I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I seriously can’t wait for them to come out!

Hey guys! So I have slowly been getting back into blogging. I have posted two reviews after being gone for a couple of months. I was originally thinking maybe I would do indiviual wrap-ups for those months. Then I saw Dora @Berries and Books do just a quick wrap-up of the books she has read since she’s been gone. I thought that would be fun. Thank you so much for the idea! Anyway, the last couple of months my reading has been very up and down. I finally have gotten back into reading which I’m super happy about. So July will have it’s own wrap-up at the end of the month. So let’s dive in and see what I read in the last couple of months!
