The Highest Rated Books I’ve Read

Hey guys! I’m so excited for today’s post. I’m going to be posting about the Highest Rated Books I’ve Read. I saw the trend going around and then it would be fun to participate in. I’m excited to see what I’ll be talking about today. I do see the Harry Potter books were at the top of the list. I will be skipping those. This post wouldn’t be as interesting if every book was from just one series. So let’s dive in!

January Book Wrap-up

Hey guys! I am excited to share with you the books I ended up reading in January. It ended up being a slow reading for me. I’m trying not to rush through my books this year. I felt like last year I read a lot of books too quickly. There are some books I don’t really remember because of that. So I’m trying to take my time and really enjoy it. So now let’s dive in! My Most Disappointing Reads of 2018

Hey guys! So the other day I made a post about My Favorite Books of 2018. So I decided I needed to follow up with a Most Disappointing Reads post. I have to say 2018 wasn’t an amazing reading year for me. I did read 100 books but a lot of them I thought were okay or didn’t like at all. Some of these I don’t even remember what they were about just that I didn’t like them. Some of these are popular books that I know people really enjoyed. I am so happy you liked that and I really wish I could have enjoyed them just as much. I do get a bit bummed when I don’t like a popular book. Not every book is for everyone. So now let’s dive in to see my most disappointing reads. Continue reading “My Most Disappointing Reads of 2018”

December Wrap-up

monthly-wrap-up

Hey guys! I had a really good reading month for December. You’ve probably been hearing me say that I recently have gotten into audiobooks. I have listened to them in the past. This month I took a really big liking to them so that helped. I also ended up reading 4 extra books that I wasn’t planning on reading so that helped as well.

December had 2 accomplishments for me. I finished the Bill Hodges series by Stephen. I’ve had the first book for a couple of years now so I was super exciting to start reading that. I ended up really loving that. I also ended up finishing The Series of Unfortunate Events. This is a series I started years ago when I was younger. I finally made the effort to finish it last year. I finally did it! It is a series I wish I finished as a kid because I feel I would have enjoyed it more. I can see myself rereading it in the future at some point.

Anyway, let’s start my last wrap-up from 2017. Continue reading “December Wrap-up”

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings

Top Ten Tuesday

Hey guys!! It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday! I am really excited for this one because it is Christmas themed. Every Christmas I usually ask for books. I’ve been trying to cut down on my book buying because I have so many I have to read. I just can’t help but ask for a couple because it’s Christmas. So let’s dive in! Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings”

Down The TBR Hole #3

Hey guys! It’s time for another Down the TBR Hole which was created by Lia @Lost In A Story! I’ve been having a lot of fun doing these. It has been proven to be a bit tough because I don’t want to get rid of any of them. I feel I’ve been doing well overall. I can’t wait to see what books I’ll be going through this week.

Here is how this works:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

The fact that I  will be repeating this process every week means that I have to keep track of where I ended and where I’m going to continue. E.g. in week one I do book 1 – 5, in week two book 6 – 10, and so on, until I’ve filtered out my entire TBR. Continue reading “Down The TBR Hole #3”

April Wrap-Up

monthly-wrap-up

So I thought I wasn’t going to get much reading in this month. My boyfriend and I ended up getting Persona 5. That game ended up taking up a lot of my time. I did however get some reading in once we finally finished it. So for April I decided I was going to take part in A Very Arc-ish Readathon. I ended up reading 6 arcs. I wanted to read more but there were a couple I just couldn’t get into.  Continue reading “April Wrap-Up”

Top Ten Tuesday

Well it’s that time again for Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. I am so excited for this week’s theme.

The theme is : Top Ten Authors I’m Dying to Meet / Top Ten Authors I can’t believe I met

Sharp ObjectsGillian Flynn: If you know me this is no surprise. I have been such a huge fan of Gillian since I read Dark Places. I love her work and am always surprised by the outcome of her books. She never disappoints. I am anxiously waiting for her to write a new book. If she does any tours I am going to do whatever I can to meet her.

17838528Morgan Matson: I have only read two of Morgan’s books and I have loved every second of them. Hands down one of my favorite contemporary author. Plus they just make me wish summer could be all year round. I saw she is suppose to be at Bookcon this year. I’m hoping she’ll be there on Saturday so I can meet her.

A Life in PartsBryan Cranston: I am super obsessed with Breaking Bad. I was so excited when he wrote a memoir last year. I haven’t read it yet. I am anxiously waiting for the audiobook to become available from the library. I would love to meet him.

15704307Brian K.Vaughan & Fiona Staples: I am a huge fan of the Saga comic. I love the story and am such a huge fan of the artwork. I believe these two would be extremely cool to meet. I would love to get inside their heads and find out more about their process. I have always wondered about the process of comics and think seeing them speak about Saga would be such a great experience.

23783496Ruth Ware: I’ve heard a lot of good things about Ruth’s books. Last year I finally decided to read the first book she came out with and absolutely loved it. I was so upset I waited so long to read her books. I would love to meet her. I know she’s coming out with a new book this year so hoping she does some book tours for it.

32370Augusten Burroughs: Wow has this man lived an intense life. Augusten writes memoirs about his life. He writes them so detailed that I feel like I’m friends with him. It feels like we are hanging out together and he is catching up on everything that’s been going on. I’ve read two of his books so far and I can’t wait to continue on and learn more about him. He really is such a talented author. I’m so upset because he had an event the other day but I wasn’t able to make it. Hopefully I will be able to go the next time.

4. Where They Found HerKimberly McCreight: I’m happy to say I have met Kimberly twice so far. I read Reconstructing Amelia and loved it. Not only was it an amazing mystery book but it took place right in the neighborhood I lived in. I found out Kimberly was doing a book signing for her newest book at the time, Where They Found Her. I had to go. I ended up going and got to meet her. It was such a great event. I ended up loving the book. She’s a local author so thankfully she always has signings near me. I look forward to her next release which is The Scattering, a sequel in The Outliers series. I’m really looking forward to that.

Yes PleaseAmy Poehler: I am such a huge fan of Parks and Recreation that the moment I found out Amy was having a book signing I had to go. I got to hear Amy talk about the book and then read a chapter from the book. Then after got to meet her. She called me Anne and I got to give her a hug. Seriously the best book signing I have ever been too. This woman is a pure delight.

Be More ChillNed Vizzini: I honestly feel like this is my author meeting story. I know meeting Amy is up there but this one is even more special because Ned approached me. So me and my friend were at Barnes and nobles years ago. Barnes and noble was always my go to hangout spot when I was younger. So we were just looking at books when all of a sudden this man came up to us. What do you know but it was none other than Ned Vizzini. He told us he holds a writing program for teens at Barnes and Noble. He told us about the program and when they meet and told us he would love for us to join. I am sad to say we didn’t end up taking up on the offer but really wish I did. He was such a down to earth guy and I still to this day can’t get over that he was the one to approach us and not the other way around. I have read Be More Chill and absolutely loved it. I have It’s Kind of a Funny Story and feel I am long over due to read it. It breaks my heart to know what happened to him. 😦

Princess in PinkMeg Cabot: I met Meg years ago. I think it was for the release of either the 5th Princess Diaries book or 6th book. It was after the movie came out so I had to go. I remember it being such a fun experience. She read from the book and was giving out swag from the book. It was such a fun time and I really cherish that book. I’m pretty sure at the time I didn’t even read the series I just really wanted to get a signed book from her. When I was younger I did really enjoy the Mediator series but I think I got into that after I went to this signing.

Can’t wait to see what authors you guys would like to meet and who you’ve actually met!!
