Hey guys, it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The theme for this week is Freebie. So I’m able to pick an old prompt. I decided to pick my My Ten Most Recent Reads. I will be skipping the books I read in November since I just posted my November Wrap-up found here. So let’s dive in to see what my most recent reads are!
Hey guys! I can’t believe I am already sharing my August TBR with you all. This year has flown by but also felt so slow. Since I had such a good reading month in July I decided I would set a TBR for myself. The books on this list are the main ones I want to get to. I do have some books on hold at the library that might come in, so might squeeze those in too. Right now these are the main ones I would really like to get to. I actually already finished one before even posting this. Let’s dive in to see what I’d like to read in August. Continue reading “My August TBR”
Hey guys! I am so excited to share with you my February Wrap-up. I feel I ended up getting a lot of reading in this month. I almost read 10 books, which is great. I feel overall I wasn’t in love with the books I read. I participated in Thrillerathon. Sadly two of the books I picked, I did not end up liking. I did end up finding a new 5 star read which I am excited to share with you. I feel March is off to a better start. I hope it stays that way. Anyway, let’s dive in to see what I read in February. Continue reading “February Book Wrap-up”
Hey guys!!! It’s time again for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is The Ten Most Recent Additions to My To-Read List. So I haven’t been putting too many books on my TBR lately. I have been doing Down The TBR Hole for a while now. I have been trying to add books I know I’m really interested in. I think in the past I would just add something just so I wouldn’t forget the name. So I’m trying to be a bit more picky. So now let’s dive in to see what my most recent additions are! Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: The Ten Most Recent Additions to My To-Read List”
Hey guys!!! It’s time again for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is Books I Loved but Will Never Re-Read. This was hard for me to pick. There are a lot of books I’ve read and loved and have been thinking about re-reading. So I ended up having to think about it for a couple minutes. Now let’s see my list! Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Loved but Will Never Re-Read”

Hey guys!! It’s time once again for another Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by The Broke and Bookish. This will be their last Top Ten Tuesday until August 15th. I’m excited to do this because I’ve read 59 books so far. This should be fun!
I just want to know these are in no order. These are just some books that have stood out to me that I really liked. There are a couple more that I really did like but I wanted to keep it at 10.
Reason: This was a book I bought a while ago when it was on sale in the iBooks store. I finally decided I was going to read it. I have to say I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It ended up being a very enjoyable read.
Reason: I loved this book so much. It was such a fun summer read. I didn’t end up reading it in the summer time but just everything about I really enjoyed. I was so upset I ended up taking so long to finally read this one. Hands down my favorite Sarah Dessen book.
Reason: I think part of me enjoying this book so much was because I read it in parts each day. I would have to wait for the next day to find out just a little bit more. It made the experience even more suspenseful because I was dying to know what was going to happen. I really ended up enjoying this one.
Reason: This is a book I was really looking forward to reading and did not disappoint. It shocked me and left me completely surprised by the ending. I could not get over it. I have to say this book was worth the wait.
Reason: This is a book I got from netgalley probably last year. I had sat on it for a while and this year finally decided to read it. I was so upset I waited so long for it. It was such a shocking read. I honestly didn’t see anything coming. I looked up the author right after and saw she was coming out with a new book this year. You know I can’t wait for that to come out.
Reason: This ended up being another really good thriller that I was not expecting. It was another book I had gotten from Netgalley but didn’t end up reading. I was so disappointed I waited so long because this was so good. It had me feeling on the edge at times and I really enjoyed that it messed with me a little. Not too many books do that to me so it was interesting to that a book could actually do that to me. I really need to read other books from this author.
Reason: This was a book I didn’t know too much about. I ended up really enjoying it a lot. It was a nice coming of age story. I have to say I was jealous of this characters life but I also felt I related to her in some ways. It ended up being a really fun read for me. I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next.
Reason: Okay so if you’re really shocked this is here you really don’t know me at all lol. I am a huge Breaking Bad fan which means I am a huge supporter of Bryan Cranston. The moment I head he was writing a book I knew I needed that book. I did end up getting carried away and bought a signed copy but worth it. He ends up telling it all and I enjoyed that. He wasn’t afraid to hold back. I would highly recommend this if you’re a fan.
Reason: This book right here. Wow I was pretty shocked by everything in this book. It was so surprising and I gotta admit a bit graphic but I enjoyed that. I know a lot of people said it ended up being too graphic for them but I actually ended up enjoying it. It made the story shocking and a lot more intense. I can’t wait to read more from Karin.
Reason: This is such an underrated comic. I found out about this from my boyfriend and it just so happened volume 1 and 2 were on Netgalley to read right away. The artwork ended up being incredible. Hands down the biggest draw. Don’t get me wrong the story was a lot of fun and I couldn’t wait to continue it but the artwork was so well done. I can’t wait for the next volume.
Release Date: May 30th 2017
Goodreads Synopsis: One of Us Is Lying is the story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.
Pay close attention and you might solve this.
On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.
Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention Simon’s dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who’s still on the loose?
Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them. Continue reading “Arc Review: One of Us is Lying By Karen M. McManus”
So I thought I wasn’t going to get much reading in this month. My boyfriend and I ended up getting Persona 5. That game ended up taking up a lot of my time. I did however get some reading in once we finally finished it. So for April I decided I was going to take part in A Very Arc-ish Readathon. I ended up reading 6 arcs. I wanted to read more but there were a couple I just couldn’t get into. Continue reading “April Wrap-Up”
So I’m super excited because I am doing something differently today. I’m coming to you with a tag called Rapid Fire Book Tag. I was tagged by the lovely Kayla @ Kdrewkthebookworm. Check out her blog!
So because this tag is called Rapid Fire so I need to answer these questions as fast as I can. So excited to do this and have you guys learn a little bit more about me as well.
Alright gets get started!!
EBooks or physical books?
Hands down I have to go with physical books. I love the smell of books and I love being able to hold a physical copy.
Paperbacks or hardbacks?
I have to say hardbacks just because some of them have beautiful covers naked. The more I see post books without their book jacket and I see how gorgeous they are it makes me wanna go on a book buying spree.
Online or in-store book shopping?
In-store all the way. There’s nothing like seeing a bunch of books you want to buy in one place. Pure joy.
Trilogies or series?
I feel I am more into trilogies just because I get intimidated by a series that has so many books. I do have a couple I want to check out though.
Heroes or villains?
I find myself usually always rooting for the heroes but I do sometimes I do find myself rooting for the villains.
A book you want everyone to read?
And Then There Were None By Agatha Christie. This book is a classic if you love mystery and suspense novels. I was a little nervous going in because I have found I don’t like classics as much but this one holds up.
Recommend an underrated book!
What My Mother Doesn’t Know By Sonya Sones. This was a book I randomly discovered when I was younger and absolutely loved. I’ve never really heard people talk about it.
The last book I finished:
One of Us Is Lying By Karen M. McManus. Omg I’ve been dying to read this book for the longest time. I thankfully got approved for an e-arc of it. I dropped everything to read this book. It was so good.
Weirdest thing you have used as a bookmark?
I’m pretty sure I’ve used by scrunchie once.
Used books: yes or no?
Sure. I like don’t mind used books. They’re usually cheaper than regular books which I’m fine with.
Top three favourite genres?
- Young Adult
Borrow or buy?
I prefer either. Sometimes if I’m not too sure of a book I’ll borrow it. Usually if I’m really looking forward to it I’ll just buy it. I do cover buy sometimes. It really depends on my mood too.
Characters or plot?
I feel once again this is either. Sometimes I’ll read stories and I won’t like the characters but love the plot and sometimes it’s the opposite. It just depends on the book.
Long or short books?
Short books. I try to branch out though and read longer books. Some books I get intimated by just because of how long they are. I do have a couple of long books I own that I want to tackle.
Long or short chapters?
I honestly don’t care. I’ve had books with long chapters and I’ll breeze through them and others I felt dragged on.
Name the first three books you think of:
- Divergent By Veronica Roth
- Pretty Little Liars By Sara Shepard
- Game of Thrones By George R.R. Martin
Books that make you laugh or cry?
Books that make me laugh. I do admit though it is nice to have an unexpected cry every once in a while.
Our world or fictional worlds?
I like fictional worlds because some of them are super creative. It’s a nice way to escape from the real world.
Audiobooks: yes or no?
Yes and No. If I listen to an audiobook, I need to be really focused. There have been plenty of times I’ve listened to audiobooks and zoned out.
Do you ever judge a book by its cover?
Yes. I have purchased books because I’ve liked how they look. There have been times I’ll judge a book by a cover. I try not to it just can be hard sometimes.
Book to Movie or Book to TV adaptations?
Both. There are some really good book to movies I’ve enjoyed and then there are some really good book to TV adaptations. Tough to choose.
Series or standalones?
I guess standalones because I read those more. I will pick up trilogies. If I read a series I might wait for a couple to be out before I start them.
If you have done this before or don’t feel like doing it, that’s no problem. I do look forward to seeing what you guys have to say and learning more about you. 🙂
Thanks again Kayla for tagging me!!!
