Blogmas Day 1: Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Want To Read Again

Hey guys, I’m back! I decided I would attempt to do Blogmas this year. Blogmas is something I started doing 2 years ago. It gives me a challenge and I always find it enjoyable. It’s my bookish way of getting into the Christmas spirit. Please bare with me. I haven’t been in the mood to blog and am in a bit of a reading slump. So I’m trying to use this to get myself out of both. Let’s hope this works.

Anyway, it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The theme for this week is Books I Want to Read Again. I don’t reread books too often. I usually try to read books I haven’t read before. Sometimes though we need that feeling we get from reading our favorite book again. I also will reread if I’m reading a sequel. I need to start doing that more tbh. So let’s dive in !

My OWLS Magical Readathon TBR (Aka My April TBR)

Hey guys, so I’m sure you’ve been seeing a lot of these posts going around. I am super excited to announce that I will be participating in the OWLS Magical Readathon which is hosted by the lovely G @ Book Roast. Here is the announcement video for this years readathon.

This is a readathon I’ve wanted to participate for a while now. I just never did. So this is new to me but I am very excited about it. I know this year G really went above and beyond. She made a whole booklet which has all the prompts for the readathon, which you can find here, as well as requirements for wizarding careers, which you can find here, for the NEWTS readathon that happens in August.

So for this readathon I did pick a career. I decided to pick the Auror career. It sounded really badass and just something I knew I would never do if had the chance. So I decided I’d live dangerously through this readathon. I also picked books for the other prompts as well just in case I wanted to read more for the readathon. So I’ll be posting all my picks for all the prompts. So let’s dive in! Continue reading “My OWLS Magical Readathon TBR (Aka My April TBR)”

Anyway let’s dive in to my August reads! Continue reading “August Wrap-up”

Waiting on Wednesday: Truly Devious By Maureen Johnson

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine which spotlights highly anticipated upcoming releases.

Truly DeviousTruly Devious By Maureen Johnson

Genre: Mystery, Young Adult and Thriller
Pages: 432 pages
Published: January 16th 2018
Publisher: HarperCollins

Plot: Ellingham Academy is a famous private school in Vermont for the brightest thinkers, inventors, and artists. It was founded by Albert Ellingham, an early twentieth century tycoon, who wanted to make a wonderful place full of riddles, twisting pathways, and gardens. “A place,” he said, “where learning is a game.”

Shortly after the school opened, his wife and daughter were kidnapped. The only real clue was a mocking riddle listing methods of murder, signed with the frightening pseudonym “Truly, Devious.” It became one of the great unsolved crimes of American history.

True-crime aficionado Stevie Bell is set to begin her first year at Ellingham Academy, and she has an ambitious plan: She will solve this cold case. That is, she will solve the case when she gets a grip on her demanding new school life and her housemates: the inventor, the novelist, the actor, the artist, and the jokester. But something strange is happening. Truly Devious makes a surprise return, and death revisits Ellingham Academy. The past has crawled out of its grave. Someone has gotten away with murder.

The two interwoven mysteries of this first book in the Truly Devious series dovetail brilliantly, and Stevie Bell will continue her relentless quest for the murderers in books two and three.

Why I Need This Book: This is a book that has been on my radar for a while. I read 13 Little Blue Envelopes a while back and The Last Little Blue Envelope in 2016. I enjoyed both books a lot. So when I heard Maureen had a new book coming out and it was going to be a mystery I got so excited. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book. If not this month hopefully next month.

Have any of you guys gotten a chance to read this early? I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I seriously can’t wait to get my hands on it.
