Hey guys, it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The theme for this week Holiday/Seasonal Freebie. I decided to do Wintry Books I’ve Read. I went through my list of books I’ve read and I don’t think I’ve read too many. I honestly don’t remember if majority of them had wintry scenes. I do feel I like books with water on the cover. That’s probably because I’m not a huge fan of winter. I thought I’d still share this list incase you guys were looking for wintry reads. So let’s dive in!

Top Ten Tuesday: (First Ten) Books I Reviewed

Hey guys!!! It’s time again for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is (First Ten) Books I Reviewed. So the prompt says it does not have to be formal reviews. It can be a couple sentences. It also can be from a retailer site or goodreads. So goodreads does show you the books you’ve reviewed but it doesn’t show you in the order you’ve reviewed. it. So I thought it would be fun to see what were the first 10 book reviews I posted on my blog. I think that would be a fun trip down memory lane. So let’s dive in.

Also I am sorry about this post going up so late in the day. I just purchased My Time At Portia and it’s taken over my life. Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: (First Ten) Books I Reviewed”

December Wrap-up

monthly-wrap-up

Hey guys! I had a really good reading month for December. You’ve probably been hearing me say that I recently have gotten into audiobooks. I have listened to them in the past. This month I took a really big liking to them so that helped. I also ended up reading 4 extra books that I wasn’t planning on reading so that helped as well.

December had 2 accomplishments for me. I finished the Bill Hodges series by Stephen. I’ve had the first book for a couple of years now so I was super exciting to start reading that. I ended up really loving that. I also ended up finishing The Series of Unfortunate Events. This is a series I started years ago when I was younger. I finally made the effort to finish it last year. I finally did it! It is a series I wish I finished as a kid because I feel I would have enjoyed it more. I can see myself rereading it in the future at some point.

Anyway, let’s start my last wrap-up from 2017. Continue reading “December Wrap-up”

Final GirlsFinal Girls By Riley Sager

Release Date: July 11th 2017

Synopsis: Ten years ago, college student Quincy Carpenter went on vacation with five friends and came back alone, the only survivor of a horror movie–scale massacre. In an instant, she became a member of a club no one wants to belong to—a group of similar survivors known in the press as the Final Girls. Lisa, who lost nine sorority sisters to a college dropout’s knife; Sam, who went up against the Sack Man during her shift at the Nightlight Inn; and now Quincy, who ran bleeding through the woods to escape Pine Cottage and the man she refers to only as Him. The three girls are all attempting to put their nightmares behind them, and, with that, one another. Despite the media’s attempts, they never meet.

Now, Quincy is doing well—maybe even great, thanks to her Xanax prescription. She has a caring almost-fiancé, Jeff; a popular baking blog; a beautiful apartment; and a therapeutic presence in Coop, the police officer who saved her life all those years ago. Her memory won’t even allow her to recall the events of that night; the past is in the past.

That is, until Lisa, the first Final Girl, is found dead in her bathtub, wrists slit, and Sam, the second, appears on Quincy’s doorstep. Blowing through Quincy’s life like a whirlwind, Sam seems intent on making Quincy relive the past, with increasingly dire consequences, all of which makes Quincy question why Sam is really seeking her out. And when new details about Lisa’s death come to light, Quincy’s life becomes a race against time as she tries to unravel Sam’s truths from her lies, evade the police and hungry reporters, and, most crucially, remember what really happened at Pine Cottage, before what was started ten years ago is finished.

The Lying GameThe Lying Game By Ruth Ware

Release Date: July 25 2017

Synopsis: On a cool June morning, a woman is walking her dog in the idyllic coastal village of Salten along a tidal estuary known as the Reach. The next morning, three women in and around London—Fatima, Thea, and Isabel—receive the text they had always hoped would NEVER come, from the fourth in their formerly inseparable clique, Kate, that says only, “I need you.”

The four girls were best friends at Salten, a second rate boarding school set near the cliffs of the English Channel. Each different in their own way, the four became inseparable and were notorious for playing the Lying Game, telling lies at every turn to both fellow boarders and faculty, with varying states of serious and flippant nature that were disturbing enough to ensure that everyone steered clear of them. The myriad and complicated rules of the game are strict: no lying to each other—ever. Bail on the lie when it becomes clear it is about to be found out. But their little game had consequences, and the girls were all expelled in their final year of school under mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of the school’s eccentric art teacher, Ambrose (who also happens to be Kate’s father).

Which is why it’s so odd when they start acting distant. And when they don’t invite her to the biggest party of the year, it doesn’t exactly feel like an accident.

But Kacey will never be able to ask, because Bailey never makes it home from that party. Suddenly, Broken Falls doesn’t seem so welcoming after all—especially once everyone starts looking to the new girl for answers.

Kacey is about to learn some very important lessons: Sometimes appearances can be deceiving. Sometimes when you’re the new girl, you shouldn’t trust anyone.
