Blogmas Day 13: Books I Didn’t Get To In 2020

Hey guys! Wow I honestly can’t believe that 2020 is almost over. This year has been such a weird one. There have been some books I read that honestly felt like I read them years ago. I did make a list at the beginning of the year where I talked about 20 books I wanted to read this year. Unfortunately I didn’t get to majority of those. I feel in previous years I usually make TBRs and follow through. This year I wasn’t in the mood for that. I do hope next year ends up being better in general. Anyway for this list I wanted to talk about some 2020 releases I was excited for but didn’t get to. So let’s dive in!

She wants to belong, but her life is so isolated.

You probably don’t know anyone like the Moore sisters.
They have an unbreakable circle of friends.
They live the most glamorous life.
They always get what they desire.

Shay thinks she wants their life.
But what they really want is hers.

Why I Need This Book: I am a huge fan of The Wife Between Us. It’s one of my favorite thrillers. I will not stop raving about it. It ended up really surprising me. So the moment I heard they had another book coming out I was so excited. I got this sent early from the publishers after loving The Wife Between Us so much. I wasn’t a big fan of An Anonymous Girl but still couldn’t wait for this. I did read this because I wanted to review it before it came out. I loved it. It was so good.

The June BoysThe June Boys By Courtney C. Stevens

Genre: Young Adult, Mystery, Thriller
Pages: 368 pages
Release Date: March 3rd 2020
Publisher: Thomas Nelson

Plot:The Gemini Thief could be anyone. Your father, your mother, your best friend’s crazy uncle. Some country music star’s deranged sister. Anyone.

The Gemini Thief is a serial kidnapper, who takes three boys and holds them captive from June 1st to June 30th of the following year. The June Boys endure thirteen months of being stolen, hidden, observed, and fed before they are released, unharmed, by their masked captor. The Thief is a pro, having eluded authorities for nearly a decade and taken at least twelve boys.

Now Thea Delacroix has reason to believe the Gemini Thief took a thirteenth victim: her cousin, Aulus McClaghen.

But the game changes when one of the kidnapped boys turns up dead. Together with her boyfriend Nick and her best friends, Thea is determined to find the Gemini Thief and the remaining boys before it’s too late. Only she’s beginning to wonder something sinister, something repulsive, something unbelievable, and yet, not impossible:

What if her father is the Gemini Thief?

Why I Need This Book: So I heard about this book from Lala @BooksandLala. It sounded really interesting and right up my alley. I actually got approved for the e-arc of this book. I started reading it and was interested in it but the formatting was all messed up. There are pictures and letters in this book and it’s hard to look at those. So I decided that I’m going to wait until the psychical copy comes out to read it. I really can’t wait to get back to reading this soon.

Have you gotten to read this early? If so what are your thoughts on it? If not, are you guys interested in picking this up? I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I seriously can’t wait for them to come out!

I feel I have a lot to read this month. I have a couple of arcs for books coming out in March that I want to get to. I’m also doing some buddy reads. I am also a bit behind on buddy reads. I want to get to those books I’m behind but after I finish my set TBR. So let’s dive in and see what I want to read in February. Continue reading “My February TBR”
