Rapid Fire Book Tag

Hey Everyone!!

So I’m super excited because I am doing something differently today. I’m coming to you with a tag called Rapid Fire Book Tag. I was tagged by the lovely Kayla @ Kdrewkthebookworm.  Check out her blog!

So because this tag is called Rapid Fire so I need to answer these questions as fast as I can. So excited to do this and have you guys learn a little bit more about me as well.

Alright gets get started!!

EBooks or physical books?

Hands down I have to go with physical books. I love the smell of books and I love being able to hold a physical copy.

Feburary Book Haul

Paperbacks or hardbacks?

I have to say hardbacks just because some of them have beautiful covers naked. The more I see post books without their book jacket and I see how gorgeous they are it makes me wanna go on a book buying spree.

A Court of Thorns and Roses

Online or in-store book shopping?

In-store all the way. There’s nothing like seeing a bunch of books you want to buy in one place. Pure joy.

Trilogies or series?

I feel I am more into trilogies just because I get intimidated by a series that has so many books. I do have a couple I want to check out though.

Heroes or villains?

I find myself usually always rooting for the heroes but I do sometimes I do find myself rooting for the villains.

A book you want everyone to read?

And Then There Were None By Agatha Christie. This book is a classic if you love mystery and suspense novels. I was a little nervous going in because I have found I don’t like classics as much but this one holds up.

And Then There Were None

Recommend an underrated book!

What My Mother Doesn’t Know By Sonya Sones. This was a book I randomly discovered when I was younger and absolutely loved. I’ve never really heard people talk about it.

What My Mother Doesn't Know

The last book I finished:

One of Us Is Lying By Karen M. McManus. Omg I’ve been dying to read this book for the longest time. I thankfully got approved for an e-arc of it. I dropped everything to read this book. It was so good.

One of Us Is Lying

Weirdest thing you have used as a bookmark?

I’m pretty sure I’ve used by scrunchie once.

Used books: yes or no?

Sure. I like don’t mind used books. They’re usually cheaper than regular books which I’m fine with.

Top three favourite genres?

  1. Mystery
  2. Contemporary
  3. Young Adult

Borrow or buy?

I prefer either. Sometimes if I’m not too sure of a book I’ll borrow it. Usually if I’m really looking forward to it I’ll just buy it. I do cover buy sometimes. It really depends on my mood too.

Characters or plot?

I feel once again this is either. Sometimes I’ll read stories and I won’t like the characters but love the plot and sometimes it’s the opposite. It just depends on the book.

Long or short books?

Short books. I try to branch out though and read longer books. Some books I get intimated by just because of how long they are. I do have a couple of long books I own that I want to tackle.

Long or short chapters?

I honestly don’t care. I’ve had books with long chapters and I’ll breeze through them and others I felt dragged on.

Name the first three books you think of:

  1. Divergent By Veronica Roth
  2. Pretty Little Liars By Sara Shepard
  3. Game of Thrones By George R.R. Martin

Books that make you laugh or cry?

Books that make me laugh. I do admit though it is nice to have an unexpected cry every once in a while.

Our world or fictional worlds?

I like fictional worlds because some of them are super creative. It’s a nice way to escape from the real world.

Audiobooks: yes or no?

Yes and No. If I listen to an audiobook, I need to be really focused. There have been plenty of times I’ve listened to audiobooks and zoned out.

Do you ever judge a book by its cover?

Yes. I have purchased books because I’ve liked how they look. There have been times I’ll judge a book by a cover. I try not to it just can be hard sometimes.

Book to Movie or Book to TV adaptations?

Both. There are some really good book to movies I’ve enjoyed and then there are some really good book to TV adaptations. Tough to choose.

Series or standalones?

I guess standalones because I read those more. I will pick up trilogies. If I read a series I might wait for a couple to be out before I start them.

I tag…

Top 5 Wednesday – Books You Felt Betrayed By

So I recently discovered Top 5 Wednesday and I decided I would try one and see how it goes. I’m so excited to switch it up and do something different from reviews and wrap-ups.

The theme for this week is:  Books You Felt Betrayed By –Beware the Ides of March! What books (or characters) did you feel betrayed by, for whatever reason…big or small.

the-girls The Girls By Emma Cline

Reason: This was a book I heard so many good things about last year. I finally got around to reading it this year and I was so disappointed. I muscled through it but overall did not enjoy.

Every Day Every Day By David Levithan

Reason: I’m not sure how this book got on my radar but I remember looking forward to reading it. I loved the concept of it I just hated the romantic aspect that took up majority of the book.

The NotebookThe Notebook By Nicholas Sparks

Reason: So usually I read the book before the movie but that wasn’t the case for this. I really enjoyed the movie. The book really disappointed me. It was just so boring. I have another Nicholas Sparks book on my TBR list so I hope that ends up being better.

24 Four A Divergent Story Collection

Four: A Divergent Story Collection By Veronica Roth

Reason: So I’m a big fan of the Divergent series. I couldn’t wait to read more about the series once it ended. The stories are from Four’s point of view. I feel everything was pretty much information I already knew. I just felt like I was reading a recap of the series.

The GrownupThe Grownup By Gillian Flynn

Reason: Gillian Flynn is one of my favorite authors. I was so excited to hear that they were releasing one of her short stories. I honestly didn’t enjoy it as much as her other stories. I wanted so much more from this. Plus the ending was very open-ended.

What are some books you feel betrayed by? I am excited to hear what you guys have to say.
