What I’ve Read In The Last Couple Of Months

Hey guys! So I have slowly been getting back into blogging. I have posted two reviews after being gone for a couple of months. I was originally thinking maybe I would do indiviual wrap-ups for those months. Then I saw Dora @Berries and Books do just a quick wrap-up of the books she has read since she’s been gone. I thought that would be fun. Thank you so much for the idea! Anyway, the last couple of months my reading has been very up and down. I finally have gotten back into reading which I’m super happy about. So July will have it’s own wrap-up at the end of the month. So let’s dive in and see what I read in the last couple of months! I like switching things up and if something sounds interesting to me and I want to pick it up right away why not. So let’s dive in to see what I ended up reading in February! Waiting On Wednesday: You Are Not Alone By Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen & The June Boys By Courtney C. Stevens

You Are Not AloneYou Are Not Alone By Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Fiction
Pages: 352 pages
Release Date: March 3rd 2020
Publisher: St. Martin’s Press

Plot: You probably know someone like Shay Miller.
She wants to find love, but it eludes her.
She wants to be fulfilled, but her job is a dead end.
She wants to belong, but her life is so isolated.

You probably don’t know anyone like the Moore sisters.
They have an unbreakable circle of friends.
They live the most glamorous life.
They always get what they desire.

Shay thinks she wants their life.
But what they really want is hers.

Why I Need This Book: I am a huge fan of The Wife Between Us. It’s one of my favorite thrillers. I will not stop raving about it. It ended up really surprising me. So the moment I heard they had another book coming out I was so excited. I got this sent early from the publishers after loving The Wife Between Us so much. I wasn’t a big fan of An Anonymous Girl but still couldn’t wait for this. I did read this because I wanted to review it before it came out. I loved it. It was so good.

My Review

The June BoysThe June Boys By Courtney C. Stevens

Genre: Young Adult, Mystery, Thriller
Pages: 368 pages
Release Date: March 3rd 2020
Publisher: Thomas Nelson

Plot:The Gemini Thief could be anyone. Your father, your mother, your best friend’s crazy uncle. Some country music star’s deranged sister. Anyone.

The Gemini Thief is a serial kidnapper, who takes three boys and holds them captive from June 1st to June 30th of the following year. The June Boys endure thirteen months of being stolen, hidden, observed, and fed before they are released, unharmed, by their masked captor. The Thief is a pro, having eluded authorities for nearly a decade and taken at least twelve boys.

Now Thea Delacroix has reason to believe the Gemini Thief took a thirteenth victim: her cousin, Aulus McClaghen.

But the game changes when one of the kidnapped boys turns up dead. Together with her boyfriend Nick and her best friends, Thea is determined to find the Gemini Thief and the remaining boys before it’s too late. Only she’s beginning to wonder something sinister, something repulsive, something unbelievable, and yet, not impossible:

What if her father is the Gemini Thief?

Why I Need This Book: So I heard about this book from Lala @BooksandLala. It sounded really interesting and right up my alley. I actually got approved for the e-arc of this book. I started reading it and was interested in it but the formatting was all messed up. There are pictures and letters in this book and it’s hard to look at those. So I decided that I’m going to wait until the psychical copy comes out to read it. I really can’t wait to get back to reading this soon.

Have you gotten to read this early? If so what are your thoughts on it? If not, are you guys interested in picking this up? I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I seriously can’t wait for them to come out!

Update on The 25 Reads Of December

25 Days of December 2019

Hey guys! So I am late with this post. I don’t know if you guys saw but in December I posted about Riveted and how they do the 25 Reads Of December. You can find the post HERE. They had a different book free each day in December leading up to Christmas. I discovered this 3 years ago. I love this idea because even if you can’t read the whole book in a day you can sample it and see if it’s worth picking up. I also love that a good amount of the books are releases from that year. So people who weren’t able to buy these books or get them from the library have a chance to access them. It’s just a really wonderful thing.

Last year I kept my list short because I knew it was going to be a busy month. It ended up being really busy and I only ended up picking up one of the books I wanted to read. So let’s dive in and see what I read, attempted to read and missed out on! Continue reading “Update on The 25 Reads Of December”

I want to get to those books I’m behind but after I finish my set TBR. So let’s dive in and see what I want to read in February. Continue reading “My February TBR”

December Wrap-up

Hey guys! I am back! I ended up taking a bit of a longer break than I thought I would. I had a lot of fun doing Blogmas for majority of December. I am excited to share with you what I read in December. It ended up not being a lot. I had high hopes but since things were so busy I didn’t pick up much. I did enjoy everything that I read so that was a plus. I was really happy about that. Anyway, let’s dive in! Continue reading “December Wrap-up”
