Blogmas Day 24: New To Me Authors

Hey guys! I’m currently at 98 read. My goal for the year is 100. I have read a lot of books from authors new and old to me. I thought I would share with you some of the new to me authors that stood out to me. Some of these authors are debut authors and others aren’t. These were just books I really ended up enjoying and can’t wait to read more from these authors. So let’s dive in!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn HugoTaylor Jenkins Reid

I had been hearing about how amazing this book was. I was a little skeptical but decided to pick it up. This is hands down one of my favorite books ever. I loved learning about Evelyn’s life. It’s basically like reading a autobiography on a famous person expect she’s made up. Plus this book left me an emotional wreck. I picked up One True Love By Taylor Jenkins Reid and I have an e-arc of her new 2019 release. I am very excited to get to both of them.

The Chalk Man C.J. Tudor

This was one of my most anticipated releases and it was so well done. It was very nostalgic. My friends who have read a lot more Stephen King said it reminded them of one of his books. I know C.J. has another book going out next year and I am so excited.

Ace of ShadesAmanda Foody

This is another one of my favorite books. I was a part of Amanda Foody’s Shadow Gang. I was on the Doves team. We were helping her promote her. So I was super worried about this one. I thankfully ended up loving this book. I thought it was just so enjoyable. It also was very action packed. I had so many emotions reading it. I do need to refresh before the sequel but I seriously can’t wait for the next book.

My Review

Liz Nugent

So Liz Nugent has become one of my auto buy authors. I loved both of these books so much. She does a great job writing character driven thrillers. I feel I don’t see that as much in thrillers which I really enjoyed. I know she has a new book out but it’s not out in the U.S., I am dying to read it.

nice try, jane sinnerLianne Oelke

I thought this was such a enjoyable debut novel. I was drawn to it because it was like Big Brother. I sad to say I am a bit rusty on this book. I do remember really enjoying it. I just looked to see if Lianne Oelke has another book coming out soon but she does not. I will be on the lookout though.

Jar of HeartsJennifer Hillier

This was a really surprising thriller. It did take me a little while to get into. Once I did get into it I was hooked. I ended up really enjoying it. The ending had me shocked. I didn’t even realize until after I read this I have another Jennifer Hillier book on my TBR. I am super excited to get to that next year.

Beasts of Extraordinary CircumstanceRuth Emmie Lang

So this book came as a complete surprise to me. It was a pick in the buddy group I’m currently in. I loved everything about this book. The story and the writing. It was just so beautiful. I will be checking out more from Ruth Emmie Lang in the future.

The 7 Half Deaths of Evelyn HardcastleStuart Turton

This book was such an intense thriller. There were a lot of characters and it was a bit confusing at time but it kept me guessing the whole time. I feel like there was never a dull moment in the story. It really reminded me of Clue. I will be checking out more from Stuart in the future.

Neal Shusterman

Wow I am upset it took me so long to pick up this series because holy hell is it good. I loved the first one and then the second one was even better. I didn’t realize Neal Shusterman has been around for so long. I do plan to check out more from him. He is an incredible writer. He kept me intrigued the entire time. It was never a dull moment. I am anxiously waiting for more information for the third Arc of a Scythe book. While I wait for that I want to read more of his other books.

Sour CandyKealan Patrick Burke

This was actually a short story but I still really enjoyed it. I was really creeped out from this story. I have never read anything from Kealan Patrick Burke before and I am excited to pick up more of his books. I’ve heard nothing but praise for his books so I’m excited.

The Afterlife of Holly ChaseThe Afterlife of Holly Chase By Cynthia Hand

I was suppose to read this book last year but I didn’t end up getting to it. I am so happy I finally did because it was so good. I really enjoyed it. Plus it helped get into the Christmas spirit. After reading this I looked up Cynthia Hand and I have a couple of other books by her I want to read. I am excited to check them out.
